TRNINIĆ: SITUATION UNDER CONTROL, BASINS OF THE BOSNA AND VRBAS RIVERS PROBLEMATIC
EAST SARAJEVO, MARCH 27 /SRNA/ - Acting Director of the Republican Civil Protection Administration, Boris Trninić, says that, due to heavy rainfall, the basins of the Vrbas and Bosna rivers are currently causing the most problems, but that the situation is under control.
"We are monitoring the Banja Luka and Doboj regions, although, according to the data, today the most precipitation ws recorded in the area of the municipalities of Bileća and Milići," Trninić told SRNA.
He noted that the water level of the Bosnia and Vrbas has not yet reached the level of regular flood defence, but that these rivers have overflowed in certain places that are agricultural land.
"The situation is being monitored, we are in contact with local communities and their civil protection headquarters," said Trninić.
According to him, it is still critical tonight and tomorrow, as the stabilization of weather is expected as of Saturday.
"Rain is expected for the next 40 hours, until Saturday morning, March 29, so we expect the water level in the Bosna and Vrbas to rise," said Trninić and added that civil protection teams are on standby.
