THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THAT INSTITUTIONS ARE FUNCTIONING

SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 3 /SRNA/ - The Republika Srpska Deputy President from the Croatian people Davor Pranjić said that the most important thing is for institutions to function, since any vacuum creates room for instability.

Speaking about his cooperation with Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, Pranjić emphasized that their relations are institutional and correct, and that he agrees with him that institutions must not be blocked.

"I do not get involved in personal relations or daily politics. My position is that cooperation must exist as long as issues of vital importance for citizens are on the table," Pranjić told the BiH edition of Zagreb’s Večernji List.

He believes that stability in Republika Srpska and BiH can be achieved only through consistent respect for institutions and dialogue among peoples.

"My proposal is very simple: consistent implementation of the Constitution, building trust, and strengthening economic cooperation," Pranjić said.

Regarding the early presidential elections in Republika Srpska on November 23, Pranjić stated that the opposition has the right to try with a joint candidate, but that the SNSD is running from the position of the largest party in Srpska, which gives it an advantage.

He emphasized that he expects the elections to be fair and transparent.

"What I want to see is that the elections take place peacefully and that, afterwards, there is no disputing the legitimacy of the elected authorities," Pranjić said.
