THE CHILDREN OF KOZARA IS NOT JUST A FILM, BUT A DEBT TO OUR ANCESTORS, CHILDREN WHO SUFFERED AND TRUTH

TREBINJE, AUGUST 24 /SRNA/ - President Milorad Dodik said he had the pleasure of speaking in Trebinje today with acclaimed director Lordan Zafranović about the long-awaited film The Children of Kozara, which deals with the grave, sacred, and painful subject of the suffering of Serb children and the Serb people in the horrors of Kozara, Jasenovac, and the criminal NDH regime.

“We are deeply committed to preserving the culture of remembrance and to the obligation to speak about the suffering of the Serb people with dignity, truth, and strength. Respect to Lordan Zafranović for his perseverance, courage, and artistic strength to reopen a wound in history so that the truth remains alive rather than imposed silence,” Dodik wrote on X.

“It is not just a film. It is a debt we owe to our ancestors, to the innocent children who perished, and to the truth that we must never allow to be forgotten,” Dodik said.

He added that The Children of Kozara is not merely the subject of a film, but a solemn pledge to remember.

“Republika Srpska will always stand behind projects that preserve the identity, truth and memory of our people,” Dodik said.

He reminded that Republika Srpska, together with Serbia, provided financial support for the production of this important film.
