BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 28 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić told SRNA that Republika Srpska must remain vigilant following a threatening message calling for jihad the parliament has received today.
"We immediately involved the competent institutions of Republika Srpska, so the Republika Srpska MoI will do its job. We all feel safe and protected, given that this is one in a series of threatening messages," Stevandić said.
Stevandić pointed out that the message was clearly inspired by jihad and Islamic State, adding that such messages demonstrate that Republika Srpska must remain vigilant.
He said that he who sent the message was certainly not mentally stable, but noted that even people in such a condition who engage in terrorism can carry out terrorist acts.
Stevandić pointed out that the threat called for the slaughter of Christians and their children, purportedly to protect the rights of those who are "princes of Islam".
"I do not believe there is a single rational person among Bosniaks or Bosniak politicians who would not condemn this or who would agree with it. However, it is necessary to investigate what makes people to develop such ideas," Stevandić said.
Threatening messages calling for jihad, the mutilation of baptised children and the killing of baptised citizens were received today at the registry office of the Republika Srpska National Assembly.
The author, who identifies himself as a member of "jihad in BiH", calls for everything necessary to be provided for the "functioning of jihad in the city of Prijedor and throughout Islamic BiH".
