PALE, OCTOBER 24 /SRNA/ - Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Nenad Stevandić said today in Pale that, over its 35 years, the National Assembly of Republika Srpska had demonstrated its institutional agency and perseverance.
Stevandić emphasized that during its 35 years of existence, the National Assembly had held 505 sessions, adopted 2,357 laws, and passed 3,471 decisions, 1,795 conclusions, 13 resolutions, 31 declarations, two positions and seven protests.
"In this respect, the National Assembly stands shoulder to shoulder with much older parliaments around the world," Stevandić said at a news conference in Pale.
Stevandić said that what the first convocation had established 35 years ago had been preserved and strengthened.
"We have put the interests of the Serb people first," Stevandić said.
He said that no indictments had managed to shake their resolve.
"The latest convocation of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska withstood the greatest pressure, but we did not buckle," Stevandić said.
The National Assembly of Republika Srpska was established on October 24, 1991, in Sarajevo, initially under the name Assembly of the Serb People in BiH.
