STEVANDIĆ: CONSTITUTIONAL COURT OF BiH DECISION ON SRPSKA GOVERNMENT - A SHOT IN DARK

BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 23 /SRNA/ – Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Nenad Stevandić stated that there are no legal consequences for Republika Srpska following the decision of the incomplete Constitutional Court of BiH declaring the former term of the Government of Republika Srpska unconstitutional.

"The latest decision is, in fact, a shot in the dark," Stevandić told SRNA.

However, he added, there are ethical consequences related to the Court itself, as this decision clearly places it on one side.

"They informed us that the year 2025 ended on December 31 and was not carried over into 2026, so there are no consequences of this Court’s decision for Republika Srpska," Stevandić emphasized.

He added that experience teaches that one should never trust the ethical professionalism, expertise, or legal consistency of that judicial body, as it is evident that no legal battles are being fought in BiH, nor is the constitutional order being protected, but rather actions are being taken on the verge of hostility toward Republika Srpska.

"This represents taking sides in BiH, even though the Constitutional Court should serve all peoples and by no means align itself with one side, which is why there is no political future for any form of political unity in BiH," Stevandić explained.
