PALE, JULY 7 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska National Assembly member Aco Stanišić said in a statement to SRNA that the road route across Romanija, where construction of the third lane was officially launched today, is the lifeline of the Sarajevo-Romanija region and the entire eastern part of Republika Srpska.
Stanišić said the road is a strategic corridor that connects not only towns and municipalities, but also drives the further development of the economy and tourism in the eastern part of Republika Srpska.
"The third lane across Romanija is finally becoming a reality," Stanišić stressed.
He noted that the additional lane will ease traffic congestion, eliminate long-standing bottlenecks and most importantly, ensure significantly safer travel for all motorists.
"I am aware that I, like many of my colleagues, may have been persistent with constant questions and insistence on this issue, but I am confident that even those who were not aware of the importance of this project will soon recognize the benefits it will bring," Stanišić says.
He expressed confidence that the works will proceed according to schedule, without any complications, adding that this is only the beginning of a major and much-needed cycle of road network modernization.
Construction of an additional slow-vehicle lane on the Podromanija–Sumbulovac section of the main road was officially launched today.
The first phase covers the uphill section from the direction of Podromanija, stretching 1,871 metres.
The contractor is Romanijaputevi.
