SRNA’S RETURN TO PALE A HISTORIC EVENT FOR SARAJEVO-ROMANIJA REGION

PALE, OCTOBER 1 /SRNA/ – Aco Stanišić, a Republika Srpska National Assembly deputy, expressed his satisfaction with the return of the national agency SRNA to Pale, describing today as a historic day for the municipality, Istočno Sarajevo City, and the Sarajevo-Romanija region.

Stanišić said that everyone born in Pale remembers the establishment of SRNA in 1992 and its role during the past Defensive-Patriotic War.

"Back then, SRNA’s role was certainly greater than it is today, but nothing diminishes its role today. This is one of the historic days for the municipality of Pale, and I am glad to be here and to have played a role in this," Stanišić told the press after the ceremonial opening of SRNA’s new premises in Pale.

Stanišić, who had advocated from the beginning for SRNA to return to Pale, said that the SRNA’s return home proves that deputies who do not merely engage in empty talk from the parliamentary stands actually work for the benefit of their people.

"The work that is agreed upon and resolved outside all the various speeches and gossip from the parliamentary podium is far more important. This is precisely one of those examples, when you fight for your city together with your colleagues so that things can change for the better," Stanišić said.

He said that SRNA’s return was an initiative of President Milorad Dodik, adding that numerous projects would be implemented in Pale.

"This includes the construction of a kindergarten, while eight million BAM will be invested in infrastructure this year," Stanišić said, adding that Pale is essentially one large construction site.

He thanked President Dodik, Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić, and everyone who contributed to SRNA’s return to Pale.

National Assembly deputy Damjan Škipina expressed his satisfaction at having taken part in SRNA’s return to Pale.

He recalled that more than two years ago, he had discussed the matter with SRNA Acting Director General Tatjana Parađina and President Dodik.

"The President promised at the time that SRNA seat would be returned to Pale, and I thank him for keeping his word, for supporting the idea, and for making it possible for us to have such magnificent premises today," Škipina said.

He stressed that the national agency SRNA deserves premises such as those it has received and expressed his confidence that its employees will continue to work professionally and objectively, as they have done so far.
