BANJA LUKA, APRIL 27 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Minister of Justice Goran Selak says the rulings of the Court of BiH clearly indicate that BiH judicial institutions are persecuting the Serb people and attempting to falsify the truth about Srpska.
Speaking today in Banja Luka at the conference “Criminal Prosecution as an Instrument of Historical Revision – Endangering Freedom of Thought and Speech through Court of BiH’s Rulings,” Selak said that such views were expressed today eminent experts from various fields.
"Today, the institutions of Republika Srpska are sending a message that we are preparing a response to the unconstitutional and unlawful behaviour of the BiH judiciary. Republika Srpska respects the Constitution and the Dayton Peace Agreement, and we know that neither the Court nor the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH are stipulated by them," Selak said.
He recalled that BiH judicial institutions are applying the Criminal Code of BiH retroactively to veterans of the past Defensive-Patriotic War of Republika Srpska, which has not been applied to other peoples in BiH.
"Let us recall the example of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, who only signed a law adopted by the National Assembly. Now they have gone a step further and are trying people for putting up slogans and banners. We can no longer watch this and stand aside," Selak said.
He added that Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić has raised this issue and that this conference should provide expert input and conclusions on further steps.
Selak said that Republika Srpska has nothing against anyone, that it always calls for dialogue and cooperation with the FBiH, and urged representatives there not to return to wartime narratives but to respect victims on all sides.
