BELGRADE, OCTOBER 28 /SRNA/ – The stepfather and mother of the terrorist from Šabac, who assaulted a Gendarmerie officer with a knife outside the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade, were arrested shortly after the incident, Belgrade media reported.
The underage attacker, Dario Nikolić, had lived with his father in Germany until June, when he was deported over radical Islamist posts on social media.
His family reported him missing yesterday and appealed to the public for help in finding him.
Nikolić attacked a Gendarmerie officer with two knives last night while the officer was guarding the premises outside the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade, shouting “Allahu Akbar”.
The Gendarmerie officer neutralised the attacker in self-defence and sustained minor injuries. Following the attack, which occurred 15 minutes after midnight, the red terrorist threat alert level was declared.
