ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 30 /SRNA/ - Deputy President of the Presidency of the Veterans' Organization of Republika Srpska Goran Šehovac has condemned the tribute paid in Sarajevo to Mušan Topalović Caco, who, he said, not only gave orders to kill Sarajevo Serbs during the war but also personally took part in those crimes.
Šehovac noted that the number of Serbs killed at the Kazani pit on the slopes of Mount Trebević above Sarajevo is still being manipulated.
He stressed that Sarajevo politics persistently lies and obstructs efforts to establish the number of victims at Kazani, where Serbs were killed and thrown into the pit.
"There is plenty of evidence at the BiH Prosecutor's Office too, but that Sarajevo, Bosniak politics persistently stays silent about it and covers it up. When it comes to Caco, he is their hero, and when it comes to our generals, they are criminals. We will never accept that," Šehovac said in a statement to SRNA.
He added that the crimes committed against Serbs in various basements and prisons in Sarajevo, many of which involved Caco, must never be forgotten.
"Is it not a criminal offense to honor one of the biggest war criminals in the city of Sarajevo? When that psychopath started killing Muslims too, they decided to get rid of him. By honoring criminals like this, they will bring about the breakup of BiH themselves," Šehovac said.
The Kazani pit on the slopes of Trebević above Sarajevo is one of the largest execution sites of Sarajevo Serbs, who were brutally killed and thrown into this natural crevice in 1992 and 1993.
The Serbs were killed by members of the 10th Mountain Brigade of the so-called Army of BiH, commanded by pre-war Sarajevo criminal Mušan Topalović, known as Caco.
More than a hundred bodies of murdered Serbs from Sarajevo are suspected to have been thrown into the pits on Trebević.
A few days ago, former members of the "Green Berets" paid tribute to Mušan Topalović Caco in Sarajevo.
