BUDAPEST, SEPTEMBER 4 /SRNA/ - His Eminence Metropolitan Lukijan of Buda said today in Budapest that the event “Serbian Days – Month of Serbian Culture in Hungary” would not have been possible without the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, and Republika Srpska itself, and that the event can be considered all-Serb.
“This is a great opportunity for us to meet, thanks to the initiative of Republika Srpska and President Dodik. We can showcase the most beautiful aspects of our culture,” Metropolitan Lukijan told reporters before his meeting with President Dodik in Budapest ahead of the "Serbian Days – Month of Serbian Culture in Hungary" event.
He emphasized that today’s event goes beyond the borders of Hungary and the Eparchy of Buda.
“This event would not have been possible without President Dodik and Republika Srpska, who were the driving force behind the launch of this initiative,” Metropolitan Lukijan stressed.
The Metropolitan emphasized the importance of Serbian-Hungarian ties, both cultural and historical.
“It is very important that our media are present and that information reaches where it is needed,” Metropolitan Lukijan said.
The event “Serbian Days – Month of Serbian Culture in Hungary” will be officially opened at the Ethnographic Museum, with the aim of presenting, preserving, and developing Serbian culture in Hungary.
The main organizer of the event is the Serbian Orthodox Eparchy of Buda, and the patrons are the Office of the President of Republika Srpska and the Ministry of Culture of Serbia.
