ZVORNIK, JUNE 7 /SRNA/ – Police officers in Zvornik rescued a woman identified as Z. V. from drowning in the Drina River, the Zvornik Police Administration told SRNA today.
Police received a report last night at approximately 7:30 p.m. that the Drina River, near the Zvornik settlement of Meterize, was carrying an unidentified woman who was desperately struggling to get out of the water and calling for help.
Officers responded immediately, entered the river, and pulled the woman from the water. She was then transported by ambulance to Zvornik Hospital for medical treatment.
Four police officers from the Zvornik Police Station took part in the rescue operation and saved her from drowning.
It is believed that the woman fell into the Drina River near the town beach and was carried by the current for approximately 800 meters before being rescued.
