UGLJEVIK, APRIL 14 /SRNA/ – The Director of Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske Luka Petrović says the Ugljevik Mine and Thermal Power Plant /RiTE/ will be operating stably and that there will be enough coal for export.

He noted that by signing today's agreement on the settlement of obligations under arbitration decisions with the company Elektrogospodarstvo Slovenije, a long-standing issue has been resolved, and that RiTE no longer faces disputes or arbitration proceedings.

Petrović confirmed to the press that the first coal has arrived from the Istok 2 exploitation field at RiTE Ugljevik, and that a higher price is expected for one-third of the electricity supplied to Slovenian partners.

The Director of Elektrogospodarstvo Slovenije Darko Kramar told the press that this had been the most difficult issue from the past, and that everything can be resolved through dialogue.

RiTE Acting Director Žarko Novaković emphasized that today's agreement represents a vital matter for this facility, and that negotiations on the price of electricity for Slovenian partners will follow.

He thanked the Republika Srpska Government for helping resolve this long-standing problem.

An agreement was signed today in the Mine and Thermal Power Plant /RiTE/ Ugljevik on the settlement of obligations under arbitration decisions towards the company Elektrogospodarstvo Slovenije, thereby suspending the arbitration proceedings in Washington.
