MOSCOW, September 9 /SRNA/ - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that, in any normal country, it is difficult to imagine that the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik could be considered to have committed a criminal offense for not implementing the decisions of Christian Schmidt, stressing that at the UN Security Council session in October, BiH will have to prepare for uncomfortable questions.
"Schmidt is actively supported by the BiH Constitutional Court, which is under the control of the EU, and prevents the peoples in BiH from solving their own problems," Lavrov said at a press conference in Moscow following his meeting with President Dodik.
Lavrov underlined that Russia is one of the guarantors of the Dayton Agreement and will continue to support that most important document.
"We will prepare this in detail for the Security Council in October when Russia holds the presidency, and BiH will have to be ready for uncomfortable questions," Lavrov emphasized.
He stressed that preserving the principles of Dayton has no alternative.
The Republika Srpska delegation at the Moscow meeting included Minister of Internal Affairs Željko Budimir, head of the Srpska Representative Office in Moscow Duško Perović, and legal expert Slavko Mitrović.
The Russian Federation delegation, in addition to Lavrov, was composed of Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko, Director of the Information and Press Department Maria Zakharova, Director of the Second European Department Yuri Pilipson, and Deputy Directors Ekaterina Izotova and Konstantin Bersenev.
