ŠIPOVO, JULY 15 /SRNA/ - The Mayor of Šipovo, Milan Kovač, stated after today's meeting with the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Savo Minić, that the future of the municipality lies in the development of the economy, as well as rural and other types of tourism.
Kovač told reporters that he was honored by the visit from Minić, with whom he discussed all essential municipal development projects, road infrastructure, and employment.
"We specifically discussed the development of tourism, which is increasingly becoming our primary economic branch. We also expressed mutual satisfaction with our cooperation on the paving of local roads," Kovač said. He added that Minić was also briefed on the operations of local wood processing companies, which are struggling with the crisis caused by current global conflicts.
Kovač emphasized that in the coming period, the renovated "Janj" hotel—financed by a returnee from Austria—will also become an attractive tourist destination.
"With this, Šipovo is increasingly becoming a place for the return of capital and people who once left this municipality in search of a better life," Kovač stated.
He added that while Šipovo is small, it has a bright future in terms of rural tourism, the economy, and agriculture, and that it is a beautiful and good place to live.
