BANJA LUKA, MAY 13 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Siniša Karan has stated today in Banja Luka that high representatives' anti-Dayton decisions are not a foundation which local leaders can keep working and building a Dayton-based BiH on.
Karan pointed out that Republika Srpska has been warning for 30 years about the erosion of the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution of BiH, which was initially driven mainly by high representatives.
"High representatives have issued 913 decisions over the years, thereby not only undermining the Dayton Peace Agreement and the BiH Constitution, but also the constitutional-legal position of Republika Srpska, which under Annex 4 of the peace agreement has strong autonomy expressed through representation in BiH institutions, independent decision-making, and the inability of one people to outvote another," Karan told press, commenting the UN Security Council's session on BiH.
Karan emphasized that high representatives have, over 30 years, created an anti-Dayton BiH and formed a parallel system.
"It is a positive realization that some now understand that high representatives must leave and take their anti-Dayton decisions with them, those that destroyed the foundations of the Dayton-based BiH. The example is Christian Schmidt who overturned the will of the people in the election of Milorad Dodik as president of Republika Srpska," Karan said.
