ISRAELI AND SRPSKA FLAGS LIGHT UP PALACE OF THE REPUBLIC

BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 6 /SRNA/ - The Palace of the Republic in Banja Luka was illuminated this evening in memory of Israeli victims and in solidarity with the Israeli people, marking three years since the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel.

The Palace of the Republic was lit up with the flags of Israel and Republika Srpska and the message "7.10 - We Remember."

The Office of the President of the Republic said earlier today that Republika Srpska had maintained a clear and unchanged position from the outset that attacks on civilians constituted acts of terrorism and that every state had the right to defend its citizens.

It added that Republika Srpska stood with Israel on October 7, 2023, throughout the years that followed and continued to stand with it today.

"Serbs and Jews are bound by historical experiences of suffering, as well as by a friendship built on mutual understanding and respect. Both peoples know the importance of the right to remembrance, the right to truth about their own suffering and the duty to preserve peace," the statement said.

Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups launched a ground, air and rocket attack from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel on October 7, 2023, killing about 1,200 people. Around 250 people were abducted and taken to the Gaza Strip.
