PETROVO, AUGUST 30 /SRNA/ - The process of searching for missing persons should be returned to the level of Republika Srpska, President of the Republic Organization of Families of Captured, Fallen Soldiers and Missing Civilians Isidora Graorac stressed.
Speaking to reporters in Petrovo during the commemoration marking the Day of the Missing and Fallen in the Defensive-Patriotic War, Graorac said this was necessary because, 31 years after the war, families of missing Serbs still do not know the fate of their loved ones.
She noted that Republika Srpska is still searching for more than 1,600 people, around 1,000 of whom are civilians, including children.
Graorac stressed that facts about everything that happened during the war must be presented every day and on every occasion, because truth is the only way to overcome everything the Serb people have faced since the end of the war.
The Day of the Missing and Fallen in the Defensive-Patriotic War of Republika Srpska is being commemorated today in Petrovo, organized by the Republika Srpska Government Committee for Nurturing the Tradition of Liberation Wars.
