FOČA FACULTY OF MEDICINE SEEKS TO ATTRACT STUDENTS FROM CHINA

PALE, NOVEMBER 6 /SRNA/ – The University of Istočno Sarajevo's Faculty of Medicine in Foča has begun work on building ties with Chinese international education agencies, aiming to promote its study programs and attract students from China and other countries.

The dean of the Faculty of Medicine in Foča, Dejan Bokonjić, and the vice dean for research, Srđan Mašić, visited China. While there, they attended the 9th Silk Road International Cultural Expo and the Dunhuang Forum 2026 on the culture of traditional Chinese medicine, both held in the city of Dunhuang.

The faculty said that during a visit to Beijing, its representatives also toured one of the leading centers for traditional Chinese medicine. They learned about how the center is organized, modern approaches to applying traditional medicine, and ways to combine traditional and modern medical knowledge through research and educational cooperation.

The most important part of the visit was a series of meetings with representatives of Chinese agencies that recruit international students, arranged with the support and mediation of BiH Ambassador to China Siniša Berjan.

The meetings focused on promoting the faculty's study programs internationally, attracting students from China and other countries, and establishing partnerships with international education agencies.

The faculty said the visit was an important step toward internationalizing the institution, raising its international profile and establishing new forms of academic, research and institutional cooperation with Chinese partners.

"The faculty will continue its work on developing international partnerships and creating conditions for students from different parts of the world to come here," the statement said.
