ZVORNIK, NOVEMBER 6 /SRNA/ – Branimir Kojić, president of the Srebrenica Organization of Families of Captured and Killed Soldiers and Missing Civilians, told SRNA that the failure to punish those who destroyed Serb property in the Federation of BiH was emboldening the perpetrators. They kept doing it deliberately, knowing that no one would punish them, he said.
"The desecration of religious buildings and Serb property in the Federation of BiH /FBiH/ shows that Serbs are not welcome in the FBiH. It is yet another form of pressure on the Serb people not to return to their homes in the FBiH, even though, sadly, they are already little more than a statistical error there," Kojić said, commenting on the destruction of shelters near two Serbian Orthodox cemeteries in the Banovići area.
Kojić said those responsible believed the Serbian Orthodox Church and Christian graves had no place in the FBiH.
"If something like this happened in Republika Srpska, if something were desecrated in Potočari, I can say with full responsibility that the whole world would react and the United Nations would take it up at the highest level. Yet no one reacts when Serb property is destroyed every day, in plain sight," Kojić said.
He said the goal of those destroying Serb property, and of Sarajevo's policy as a whole, was to have no Serbs left in the FBiH at all, so that they could take over Serb land and property. This, he said, was what Alija Izetbegović had planned in his book "The Islamic Declaration".
"Sadly, that idea is still alive in political Sarajevo, which is dangerous both for BiH and for all the peoples living in it. There can be no talk of coexistence, peace and tolerance in BiH as long as the `Islamic Declaration` remains the ideological blueprint for Bosniak political action," Kojić said. /end/msg/am
