DRAGO MITROVIĆ WAS SLAUGHTERED TWICE IN TWO WARS BY THE SAME ENEMIES

SREBRENICA, JULY 4 /SRNA/ - Drago Mitrović from Srebrenica village Podravanje, who survived the slaughtering by Ustashas in World War II, after which he became mute and was left with trauma, was caught again in 1992, when he was slaughtered by the descendants of those whose daggers he escaped in 1941, professor Miloš Mitrović told SRNA, emphasizing that the case of his uncle is unique.

Mitrović, a native of this village, testifies that on September 24, 1992, his mother Ruža, who was 65 years old, was killed in Podravanje, along with his uncle Mihajlo, whose body was later found without a head.

"This is a unique case of one man experiencing two massacres in two wars in 67 years of life from the same enemies," said Mitrović.

He pointed out that Serbs who were hiding near the place where his uncle was killed heard the butcher say "you survived 1941, but you certainly won't now" and cut off Drago's head, which means he knew him, as written in the book "Testimony about the Unpunished Crime against Serbs in Podrinje".

"No one was held accountable for the first slaughter of this man, and that's why it happened again. The criminals believed they were allowed to do it because they wouldn't be punished this time neither, which, unfortunately, came true. No one was held accountable for the murder of 60 Serbs from Podravanje in the last war, 32 of whom were killed on September 24, 1992, and not even for the second slaughter of my uncle Drago," said Miloš Mitrović. /to be continued/
