DODIK TO RIA NOVOSTI: REPUBLIKA SRPSKA REVIVES GAS PIPELINE ISSUE

MOSCOW, OCTOBER 10 /SRNA/ – The Republika Srpska authorities will once again raise the issue of constructing a gas pipeline at the level of BiH to deliver Russian gas through the territory of Republika Srpska following an electoral victory, President Milorad Dodik told RIA Novosti.

“We believe that we must make another attempt to save the Dayton Peace Agreement. This also means unblocking all investment projects, such as the gas pipeline. Bosniaks have been blocking the construction of a gas pipeline from Serbia to Republika Srpska for 12 years,” Dodik stressed.

Dodik noted that, if there is Bosniaks’ willingness to cooperate, Republika Srpska “is ready to work on it”.

The project has been blocked due to years of political disagreements between the authorities in Sarajevo and Banja Luka.
