DODIK: SERBS’ UNDOUBTED CONTRIBUTION TO STARTING NEW ERA IN WORLD DEVELOPMENT

BANJA LUKA, MAY 9 /SRNA/ - The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik has said tonight that the Victory Day is a great day of civilization when a new era in the development of the world began, to which the Serb people made undoubted contribution.

"Today is proof that we side with the truth, the one that undoubtedly records that on May 9, 1945, the document on the capitulation of Germany was signed, the defeat of the Nazi and fascist ideas was definitely confirmed in Europe, and the entire world," said Dodik in a video address from Moscow at the ceremonial gathering in Banja Luka on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism.

Dodik stated that Serbs, along with Russians and Jews, were the people who suffered the most in World War II.

He thanked everyone who participates in the gathering in Banja Luka, because in this way they prove they want to side with the truth and winners, as it is what the Serb people was.

"In this way, we will react to those who today try to make bad guys out of us who were victims in both the First and Second World Wars," emphasized Dodik.

The president of Srpska pointed out that the Serb people, through their suffering in the First and Second World Wars, brought freedom to other peoples, and even to those who were against the Serbs.

"We cannot count on good words and good intentions, unfortunately. We have to build our good only on our will and on our interests. Serbs must reject global or regional ideas, such as associations and Yugoslavia. The only idea that can preserve the Serb national presence in the Balkans is the idea of a national and state gathering of Serbs," concluded Dodik.
