SOCHI, OCTOBER 2 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik stated after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russia rejects foreign interference in the internal affairs of BiH and remains committed to the principles of the Dayton Agreement.
"Russia supports agreements reached by the parties themselves and believes that foreign interference is not the way to maintain relations in a complex community such as BiH," Dodik told reporters from SRNA and RTRS.
He noted that the meeting also addressed the upcoming session of the UN Security Council on BiH.
"We discussed what should be done on our part. We are preparing a report to present our position, and the Russian side will present it," Dodik said.
He added that the Russian president was informed of his recent meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the political situation in BiH, emphasizing that Russia, as a guarantor of the Dayton Agreement, has the right to be involved.
"Russia agrees with our positions regarding what has been done by foreign actors," Dodik stressed.
Prior to the bilateral meeting, the President of the Russian Federation addressed the plenary session of the 22nd annual Valdai International Discussion Club, which was also attended by the President of Republika Srpska. /end/ach
