MOSCOW, MAY 27 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik says that politics based on lies cannot function, no matter how much power is involved, and that no influence from France or Germany can change that.
Dodik has emphasized that it is well known these countries have never favoured Republika Srpska and have always taken an unreasonable stance in BiH, siding with the Bosniaks.
“If you are unable to understand the situation in BiH and only listen to one side, the one that tries to blame the Serbs for both, the past and the future, then you are in the wrong place. Large Muslim communities in Germany and France are trying to promote a narrative that they are friends of BiH,” Dodik said.
According to him, this poor approach has been evident for 30 years.
“Germany and France can have their policies, but that will never be enough to be successful in the Balkans,” Dodik stated during his stay in Moscow.
Commenting on new pressures from the West and the EU, i.e. the non-paper on BiH co-authored by France, Dodik said it’s a method through which they try to control the situation.
“It’s understandable that the current government is trying to restore Germany’s influence. They can have their own policies, but that will never be enough to be successful in the Balkans. What matters is what our policies are, not what Germany’s or France’s policies are in the Balkans,” Dodik told RTRS.
He has added that no amount of power from France or Germany can help or function effectively in this region.
“Those of us who believe in preserving the letter of the Dayton Peace Agreement are seen as the ‘bad guys’. The people need to understand that if Republika Srpska loses significance, our entire community loses,” Dodik noted.
The president of Republika Srpska is currently in Moscow, where he will be among the first to speak at the 13th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues.
