CVIJANOVIĆ: NATIONAL ASSEMBLY IS WHERE INTERESTS OF REPUBLIKA SRPSKA ARE PRESERVED AND DEFENDED

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 24 /SRNA/ - Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović stressed that the National Assembly was the first institution to lay the foundations for the establishment and political development of Republika Srpska.

"The decisions made 35 years ago expressed the political will of the Serb people to decide their own future. Since then, the National Assembly has remained a place where the interests of Republika Srpska and its citizens are preserved and defended," Cvijanović wrote on X.

Expressing confidence that this would remain the case in the years and decades to come, Cvijanović congratulated National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić and all members of the parliament on the 35th anniversary of the founding of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.

The National Assembly of Republika Srpska, the highest constitutional and legislative body within the governance structure of Republika Srpska and the central institution of its parliamentary system, was established on October 24, 1991, under the name Assembly of the Serb People in BiH.
