BUDIMIR: WE WOULD LIKE TO ACQUIRE MULTI-PURPOSE HELICOPTERS

BANJA LUKA, MAY 29 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Minister of Interior Željko Budimir has stated today in Banja Luka that the acquisition of several multi-purpose helicopters is being considered, primarily those manufactured by a US company.

"One of the helicopter models we are interested in is the Bell. We already use such helicopters in the Aviation Unit of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior /MoI/," Budimir told the press after signing a memorandum with representatives of US companies.

He says that the police also require equipment for nighttime surveillance and observation.

"It is the best equipment available on the market, and that is one of the reasons why we are interested in this cooperation," Budimir added.

Today in Banja Luka, Republika Srpska ministers of economy and entrepreneurship, interior, and transport and communications - Radenko Bubić, Željko Budimir, and Zoran Stevanović - signed memorandums of understanding with representatives of U.S. companies.
