BUDIMIR: ORAO REFLECTION OF SRPSKA’S TECHNOLOGICAL PROGRESS

BIJELJINA, OCTOBER 30 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Interior Minister Željko Budimir said that the Orao military industry company is a reflection of Republika Srpska's technological progress.

"Orao is one of the most important segments of Republika Srpska's defence industry, equipped with the highest level of technology," Budimir told the press in Bijeljina ahead of a ceremony marking the company's 82nd anniversary.

He pointed out that the Republika Srpska Government had invested funds in the establishment of a helicopter engine overhaul facility in the previous period, which is expected to help Orao commercialise its products and enter markets where it has not previously operated.

"The greatest Orao's asset is its people. The company has a workforce capable of managing this system at a high technological level. The Government will support the rejuvenation of its workforce, not only at management level but also among its engineering staff, which should help the company," Budimir said.

He stressed that Orao could expect all necessary assistance from the Republika Srpska Government in the period ahead, as the company demonstrates the technological level Republika Srpska has reached.

A ceremony marking 82 years of successful operation of the Orao defence industry company is currently underway in Bijeljina, attended by representatives of Republika Srpska institutions and institutions at the level of BiH.

In addition to Minister Budimir, the ceremony is being attended by Republika Srpska Minister of Labour, War Veterans and Disabled Persons Protection Radan Ostojić, Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac, representatives of the Serbian Armed Forces, associates and business partners.
