BUBIĆ: NEW BORDER CROSSING IMPORTANT FOR ECONOMY AND CITIZENS OF SRPSKA AND BiH

BANJA LUKA, MAY 20 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Minister of Economy and Entrepreneurship Radenko Bubić has said today that the opening of the new border crossing in Gradiška is very important for the economy, as well as for the citizens of Republika Srpska and BiH, expecting it to remain permanently open.

"I cannot believe there is a single citizen or business entity in BiH to whom the opening of the new border crossing is not important. I expect that more terminals will be opened at the crossing and that the flow of people and goods will be much faster than at the old crossing," Bubić told the press in Banja Luka.

He stressed that yesterday’s closure of the old Gradiška border crossing due to bridge damage was disastrous not only for the economy but also for the citizens of Republika Srpska and BiH.

"More than 90 percent of transport traffic passes through this border crossing, and thousands of trucks were turned back yesterday. It would have been devastating for the economy if that crossing had remained closed because it is one of only two crossings in BiH with special inspection supervision," Bubić said.
