BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 7 /SRNA/ - "As long as Serbs are alive, so are you, General" is one of the latest messages written by Army of Republika Srpska veterans in Banja Luka in the book of condolences opened following the death of General Ratko Mladić.
The book of condolences, in which Army of Republika Srpska veterans continue to write messages even at this moment, on the day of Mladić's funeral, remains in front of the Central Memorial to the Fallen Soldiers of the Defensive-Patriotic War.
"I came here, walking two kilometers with a crutch, to write a few words for the commander. I would have crossed a hundred times that distance," one of those who signed the book of condolences told SRNA.
General Ratko Mladić died at a detention hospital in The Hague on August 27, after the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals in The Hague repeatedly rejected requests for him to be released for medical treatment in Serbia. He will be buried today at Topčider Cemetery in Belgrade.
