BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 15 /SRNA/ – SNSD Vice President Miroslav Bojić said the party will propose that objections be filed within the appeal deadlines and that the Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH be requested to conduct a recount of ballots at polling stations in local communities governed by the opposition.
Bojić noted that the CEC had adopted a new decision on the recounting of ballots and that once again this mainly concerned polling boards, about 90 percent, in local authorities led by SNSD.
“We are asking what about the irregularities recorded in Teslić, Lopare and Bijeljina, where the opposition is in power, and we are demanding that the actual state of the votes there also be verified,” Bojić said at a press conference in Banja Luka.
He noted that these irregularities can be seen on the official CEC website, where election results have been published.
“In Teslić, at one polling station, the opposition candidate received 100 percent of the votes cast, while in Lopare it was recorded that voter turnout at a polling station was 83 percent, although the data clearly show that overall turnout in the elections was 40 percent,” Bojić said.
He added that in Janja, near Bijeljina, the opposition candidate received 92 percent of the votes, while SNSD candidate Siniša Karan received only one vote.
Bojić said that if a decision were made to repeat elections in some cities, something the opposition has been continuously insisting on, criminal complaints and lawsuits would be filed against those CEC members who vote in favor of such a decision.
“This causes great damage to the reputation of the city, as well as to our citizens.
Strong pressure is being exerted on members of polling boards, who have previously undergone all necessary training and checks,” Bojić said.
