On the occasion of Vidovdan, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, today presented the Order of Serbia on a sash to the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković.

BELGRADE, JUNE 28 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Radovan Višković said that the Order of Serbia on a sash, with which he was awarded today on Vidovdan by the homeland, is a special privilege, a great honor, but also a responsibility.

Višković thanked President Aleksandar Vučić and Serbia, noting that this is a sign that those who hold positions outside the homeland are recognized for protecting the Serb people and their interests.

“Preserving Republika Srpska, preserving the Serb people in BiH, specifically in Republika Srpska, is our sacred duty,” Višković told reporters from Srpska in Serbia.

He emphasized that the Serbian people should not remember Vidovdan only as a day of suffering, but rather celebrate it as a victory for survival and perseverance on these lands, from the Battle of Kosovo in 1389, through 1914 and Gavrilo Princip’s shot in Sarajevo, up to the Defense Patriotic War.

“We know that on Vidovdan in 1992, the Republika Srpska Army /RSA/ took its first solemn oath in Sokolac, but also on that same Vidovdan in 1992, we liberated the corridor of life. That is why Vidovdan is a victory for the Serbian people; that is why Vidovdan is life for the Serbian people. We should celebrate life, never suffering,” concluded Višković.

On the occasion of Vidovdan, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, today presented the Order of Serbia on a sash to the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković.

Višković was awarded for his outstanding merits in strengthening peaceful cooperation and friendly relations between the Republic of Serbia and Republika Srpska.
