BELGRADE, AUGUST 24 /SRNA/ - Water levels of the Danube, Sava and Tisa near Titel will be below low navigable levels in the coming days, the Republic Hydrometeorological Institute of Serbia announced.
The hydrological warning states that flows on the Kolubara and its tributaries, the Jadar, Toplica and Vlasina, the tributaries of the West Morava and Great Morava, as well as the Black and White Timok, have approached the minimum average monthly values with 95 percent non-exceedance, i.e. the biological minimum.
The Institute previously issued a warning for high air temperatures in Serbia, as temperatures will be between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius on most days until the end of August, even higher on Friday and Saturday, August 28 and 29.
"High air temperatures, accompanied by a precipitation deficit and occasionally stronger winds, will continue to contribute to the drying of vegetation and a pronounced risk of fires starting and spreading in open areas," the statement said.
