LINTA: THERE CAN BE NO COMPROMISE ON THE PROPERTY OF REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BELGRADE, November 30 /SRNA/ - The President of the Alliance of Serbs from the Region Miodrag Linta, said that the property of Republika Srpska is one of the most important national issues and that the fight for its protection represents a red line on which no compromise is possible.

Linta stressed that the unity of all Serbian political parties is essential in order to reject the adoption of the Law on State Property, whose proposal was initiated by Bosniak politicians in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and which is contrary to the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution of BiH.

He emphasized that the aim of this law is to seize the property and turn Republika Srpska into an empty shell, as one of the key steps towards creating a unitary BiH.

Linta noted that it is extremely important for Serbia to continue to actively and strongly support the respect of the Dayton Peace Agreement, which settled the issue of property and clearly established that Republika Srpska administers 49 percent of the territory.

"It is clear that the property belongs to Republika Srpska, not to BiH as falsely claimed by Bosniak politicians. The Constitution of BiH explicitly states that everything not under the jurisdiction of BiH falls under the jurisdiction of the entities, which includes property. The fight to preserve the property of Republika Srpska - agricultural land, forests, water resources - is a red line on which there can and must be no compromise," Linta underlined.

The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH decided at its November 27 session to consider the Draft Law on State Property under regular procedure because there was no entity majority to discuss it under urgent or expedited procedure, as requested by a group of Bosniak MPs.

The proposers were MPs Jasmin Emrić, Šemsudin Mehmedović, Aida Baručija and Elvisa Hodžić.
