INCREASING USE OF PYROTECHNICS AT SLAVIJA SQUARE

BELGRADE, OCTOBER 26 /SRNA/ – The use of pyrotechnic devices is increasing at the gathering in Belgrade’s Slavija Square, where supporters of the Student List are celebrating their victory in Serbia’s snap parliamentary elections, an SRNA reporter at the scene reports.

Insulting chants directed at Aleksandar Vučić can be heard at the gathering.

Increasing numbers of young people who appear to be under the influence of alcohol are arriving at Slavija Square, carrying alcoholic and energy drinks.

Meanwhile, people are dancing the traditional Užice kolo in nearby Birčaninova Street.

The Student List has called on citizens to remain dignified and responsible and to disperse peacefully once the celebrations at Slavija Square come to an end.

Regarding this evening’s storming of the Informer television premises in Voždovac, where clashes broke out between several dozen people and the police, the Student List stated that it did not support storming media outlets or institutions and did not call for such actions.
