LINTA CALLED ON THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY TO PREVENT THE SEIZURE OF SOC PROPERTY IN BUGOJNO

BELGRADE, JULY 21 /SRNA/ - The President of the Association of Serbs from the Region, Miodrag Linta, called on representatives of the international community in BiH to most strongly condemn the attempted seizure of the remaining property of the Serbian Orthodox Church /SOC/ in Bugojno and to demand that the competent institutions in the FBiH take concrete measures to prevent this violence.

Linta emphasized that the statements from the Serbian Orthodox Church Municipality of Bugojno regarding the attempted seizure of the remaining SOC property represent the final act of cementing the ethnic cleansing of the Serb people in the Bugojno area, the Association of Serbs from the Region announced.

"The authorities in the FBiH have an obligation, in accordance with the Constitution, laws, and international conventions, to ensure respect for human rights in all segments of society for the Serbian Orthodox Church and the few remaining Serbs, including the right to property," Linta stated.

An attempt to seize the last remaining property of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Bugojno is currently underway, backed by local power brokers and politicians who are in collusion with prosecutors and lawyers, the Bugojno parish priest Slaviša Đurić told SRNA.

Đurić stated that a lawsuit for the recognition of ownership rights against the Serbian Orthodox Church Municipality of Bugojno was filed by M.I., whose family owns a large residential and commercial building in the city center, in the immediate vicinity of the SOC plot.
