FIRE SPREADS TO CEMETERY ABOUT 200 METRES FROM VOZUĆICA MONASTERY

ZAVIDOVIĆI, SEPTEMBER 7 /SRNA/ – Archpriest-Stavrophor Zoran Živković told SRNA that the fire which broke out in the forest near Vozućica Monastery has spread to a cemetery located about 200 metres from the holy site.

Živković said that workers at the monastery had just informed him of the development.

"The firefighters have gone to the site, and I am mobilizing people to help them, so we will see what happens," Živković said.

He stressed that they would keep assessing whether additional assistance was needed to fight the fire.

The fire broke out in the forest near Vozućica Monastery yesterday, and police, firefighters, forestry workers and local residents were at the scene.

Vozućica Monastery belongs to the Dabar-Bosnia Metropolitanate of the Serbian Orthodox Church. It is dedicated to the Holy Trinity and was built in the 14th century as an endowment of Serbian King Dragutin.
