SARAJEVO, DECEMBER 15 /SRNA/ – SNSD candidate in the snap elections for President of Republika Srpska, Siniša Karan, won the election with 222,182 votes, or 50.39 percent, according to data from the Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH, based on results from all processed polling stations.
SDS candidate Branko Blanuša won 212,605 votes, or 48.22 percent, while Savez za novu politiku /Alliance for New Politics/ candidate Dragan Đokanović received 2,018 votes, or 0.46 percent.
Nikola Lazarević of the Ekološka partija /Ecological Party/ of Republika Srpska won 1,698 votes, or 0.39 percent; independent candidate Igor Gašević received 1,353 votes, or 0.31 percent; and independent candidate Slavko Dragičević won 1,066 votes, or 0.24 percent.
According to the CEC, out of 1,264,366 registered voters, 449,376, or 35.54 percent cast their ballots.
There were 440,922 valid ballots, or 98.12 percent; 850 blank ballots, or 0.19 percent; while 7,604 ballots, or 1.69 percent, were invalid under other criteria.
Earlier today, the CEC adopted a decision establishing and publishing the results of the early elections for President of Republika Srpska.
