BANJA LUKA, November 16 /SRNA/ - Darko Matijašević, President of the Movement "Odbrana Srpske" /Defense of Srpska/, told SRNA that the upcoming election of SNSD presidential candidate Siniša Karan, whom they fully support, will provide a foundation for maintaining a stable position for Republika Srpska.
Matijašević said that Serbian unity must be achieved and that Republika Srpska must be preserved as the backbone of Serbs in the Balkans.
"We need Karan's victory. In the current geopolitical circumstances, we truly stand at a crossroads, at a moment when we must use, in our own interest, everything that the legitimate President Milorad Dodik has achieved," Matijašević emphasized, speaking at the panel "Endangered Srpska - A Decisive Response" in the Banja Luka settlement of Motike.
He explained that Dodik, through national and state policy, succeeded in stabilizing relations between Republika Srpska and international actors, underscoring the importance of supporting him and the policies of his political allies.
According to Matijašević, the SNSD leader is, among other things, a national and ideological leader, as well as a genuine statesman whom, he said, Serbs in this region will not have again for the next 50 years.
Dragomir Andan, advisor to the prime minister, told SRNA that Sarajevo continues its policy of unitarizing BiH.
"We must be aware of the situation. In these imposed elections, we must support our Siniša Karan. He will inherit and consistently follow the policy of Milorad Dodik. We cannot falter, because this is a decisive moment for Srpska," Andan said.
Colonel of the Army of Republika Srpska Gojko Toroman stated that the leadership of Srpska made a prudent strategic move by aligning with the new U.S. administration while simultaneously maintaining a positive course with Russia, Hungary, and brotherly Serbia.
Vladimir Kuvalja, Director of the Technical School in Banja Luka, expressed full support for the policy of Milorad Dodik as well as for presidential candidate Siniša Karan.
The panel organized by the Movement "Odbrana Srpske" was attended by numerous representatives of the veteran community, descendants of soldiers of the Defence and Homeland War, and intellectuals.
