BANJA LUKA, JULY 9 /SRNA/ - Minister of Finance and Treasury in the Council of Ministers, Srđan Amidžić, says the FBiH-based “Troika” parties are merely a group of scattered individuals, united by actions against Republika Srpska, with no clear political goals.
Amidžić has assessed that the Council of Ministers functions poorly because, as he said, proper functioning requires having a partner.
"Across from us, there is something called the ‘Troika’, scattered people with no clearly defined political goals, united only by actions that harm the people living in Republika Srpska. They are only united when their national interest is at stake, but regarding other important issues, they don’t even attend the Council of Ministers’ sessions," Amidžić stated.
Amidžić, who also holds the position of SNSD Secretary-General, emphasized that there is no political consensus for appointing a new minister of security, stressing that he would never allow himself to be nominated by Bosniak political parties, as is the case with the leader of the List for Justice and Order, Nebojša Vukanović.
He pointed out that even in situations where the interests of the Serb people clash with those of the other two constituent peoples in BiH, it is necessary to adhere to the BiH Constitution.
"Both Republika Srpska and FBiH have signed onto how BiH should function. It is clearly defined how to proceed, and we cannot change that," Amidžić stressed.
He stated that there will never be a BiH shaped according to the Sarajevo politicians’ vision.
"The Bosniaks’ goal is to have one ‘government,’ one ‘president,’ and one centre of decision-making, which is Sarajevo. If anyone from the Republika Srpska opposition supports that, they should openly say so," Amidžić pointed out.
Commenting on reports that PDP deputy in the House of Peoples, Nenad Vuković, suggested to Darko Babalj, a member of the House of Representatives’ Advisory Board, to submit an initiative for the dismissal of Marinko Čavara, the Croat member of the Advisory Board, Amidžić noted that Vuković has never proposed anything related to improving the quality of life for people in Republika Srpska and FBiH.
Amidžić stressed that BiH Presidency members Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić are to blame for the failure to adopt the state budget and for the fact that 23,000 people are still waiting for salary increases.
"They’ve gotten used to foreign support. That’s the case with the budget as well, They refuse to adopt it, then run to the foreigners and accuse the Serbs of blocking it," Amidžić told ATV, adding that the failure to adopt the budget creates major problems.
He also emphasized that Bosniak politicians will bear direct responsibility for the negative effects the businesses in Republika Srpska and FBiH will suffer due to the introduction of a 30 percent US custom tariff.
"FBiH people are now watching whether Milorad Dodik’s initiative will pass. Their biggest problem is that the initiative came from the president of Republika Srpska. That’s BiH," Amidžić says.
