SERBIAN PEOPLE NO LONGER HAVE THE RIGHT TO HISTORICAL ILLUSIONS OR NAIVETY

EAST SARAJEVO, JULY 13 /SRNA/ – Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac has stated that the Serbian people, as the greatest victims of the 20th century in the former Yugoslavia, no longer have the right to historical illusions or naivety.

Košarac reminded that the past century was a century of bloody and horrific suffering for the Serbian people because they always and solely defended their freedom, their homes, dignity, faith, and tradition.

“We defended only what rightfully belonged to us. It is our moral duty and obligation to build a culture of remembrance, to warn, to remind, and to teach younger generations about moral values and the importance of remembering all the suffering of the Serbian people throughout history,” Košarac emphasized.

According to him, it is necessary to learn lessons from all of this to prevent such suffering from happening again.

“We must defend the truth, because that is our debt to the victims of our suffering, but also a pledge for the future of our children,” Košarac stressed.

He underlined that Republika Srpska was created as an expression of the will and love of the Serb people, but also as their institutional protection.

“Republika Srpska is the condition and guarantee of our survival in these areas. We will never accept false narratives of victimizing only one people in BiH, much less the lies that aim to portray the Serbian people as ultimate criminals and pin undeserved and shameful labels of a genocidal people on us,” Košarac wrote on Instagram.

Such lies, he added, awaken a reflex of self-defense in the Serb people and strengthen the awareness of the essential need to protect Republika Srpska.

“The talk of coexistence in BiH, while at the same time they attach undeserved labels to us, belittle and humiliate our victims, is merely a farce by those who want to establish domination and, under the guise of a civic state, turn BiH into a unitary country in which there is no place for the Serb people,” Košarac said.

He emphasized that there can be no coexistence or future in BiH if some seek revenge and call for a ‘second half.’
