REAFFIRMED COMMITMENT TO FULL IMPLEMENTATION OF DAYTON AGREEMENT

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, JULY 7 /SRNA/ – Deputy Defense Minister in the BiH Council of Ministers Aleksandar Goganović met today in Istočno Sarajevo with Russian Ambassador to BiH Igor Kalabukhov and thanked the Russian Federation for its consistent advocacy of respect for the Dayton Peace Accords.

Goganović said the Serb people appreciate the fact that the Russian people have always stood by them throughout history.

The two officials reaffirmed their commitment to the full implementation of the Dayton Peace Accords and its original text. They also assessed that the time has come to close the Office of the High Representative /OHR/, so that decisions in BiH would be made by the country's democratically elected representatives, according to a statement from the Office of the Deputy Defense Minister.

The meeting was also attended by Russian Defence Attache to BiH Ilya Skrebnev and Aleksandar Nikolić, Chief of Staff to the Deputy Defense Minister.
