BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 14 /SRNA/ – President Milorad Dodik announced that a Republika Srpska delegation will travel to China by the end of the year to discuss opportunities for cooperation.
Dodik says that, in addition to China, Republika Srpska maintains good relations with Serbia, the United States and Israel, and that he expects the continuation of cooperation with Serbia and the implementation of joint infrastructure projects.
"We are continuing our good cooperation with Israel. In addition, we have good relations with parties that we want to see win in the EU, such as Marine Le Pen’s party, which is already being described as a favourite in the French presidential election. We also have well-developed relations with the Alternative for Germany /AfD/," Dodik said.
Dodik expresses his expectation that the United Serbia electoral list, heaed by Aleksandar Vučić, will win the upcoming parliamentary elections in Serbia and that cooperation will continue.
"We already have some joint infrastructure plans. I expect Donald Trump’s administration in America to become further stabilized. There is not the slightest reason for our very good and stable relations to be jeopardized," Dodik said.
Speaking about relations with Croatia, Dodik said that communication was ongoing, but that certain recent actions had jeopardized relations between the Serb and Croat peoples.
He stresses that Serbia and Croatia political representatives need to discuss relations between the two peoples and ways to overcome existing problems.
"This relationship must definitely be put on the agenda of both political establishments in order to see how the situation can be eased," Dodik told RTRS.
He emphasized that Croats would never abandon certain versions of their historical truth, nor would Serbs abandon theirs.
"No one will ever stop visiting sites where members of one, another or the third people suffered. However, we must do so in a way that is not provocative and does not awaken painful memories. We should see what we can do together in the present circumstances," Dodik said.
He identified the need to ensure strong political leadership capable of helping preserve peace as a key issue for the region’s future, particularly at a time when conflicts are being encouraged from outside.
Dodik emphasized that former Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vučić was undoubtedly a man of peace and said he iy convinced that Vučić will not go to war with either Croatia or the Bosniaks.
