BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 14 /SRNA/ – President Milorad Dodik says that all decisions currently in force that have not gone through parliamentary procedure must be annulled.
"Milorad Dodik did not undermine the constitutional order; the judges and prosecutors of the Court of BiH and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH did so by introducing decisions into the legal system that had not been passed by parliament. The Constitution stipulates that laws are adopted by parliament," Dodik emphasized.
He questioned the legal basis for introducing a decision concerning failure to comply with a foreign representative into criminal proceedings.
Dodik said that those who had undermined the constitutional order must be held accountable.
"What kind of country is it when someone from outside makes a decision and undermines its Constitution? The Court and the Prosecutor’s Office are undermining their own Constitution. That is separatism – their undermining of the Constitution, not Milorad Dodik," he stressed.
He emphasized that, once the authorities at the level of BiH are constituted, the issue of the Electoral Law of BiH must be addressed first, followed by accountability for abuses in the work of the Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH.
Dodik stated that some CEC members had continued to perform their duties even after their legally prescribed terms of office had expired, adding that they should have retired.
"The first items on the agenda will be the Electoral Law, the removal of the CEC, and the punishment of those who abused their positions in the Election Commission," Dodik told RTRS.
He says that disregarding the disputed actions and simply moving on as though nothing had happened is unacceptable, instead those who, as he states, acted outside the law must be held accountable.
"Imagine this: legal professionals carrying out their duties when they were not entitled to do so. You are not going to prosecute that. So, what do you want? For us to say that everything was wonderful and now we can move on? Well, that is not going to happen," Dodik said.
