SARAJEVO, SEPTEMBER 8 /SRNA/ - Elmedin Konaković has decided, for cheap political points and campaign purposes, to abuse his position as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers and undermine good diplomatic practice, a member of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Milan Petković told SRNA.
Following Konaković's decision to declare two Serbian diplomats persona non grata, Petković said that this was shameful behavior and an act of arrogance that Konaković had displayed over the past four years.
"This will only deepen the conflicts in BiH and could perhaps also prompt reciprocal measures by Serbia. In this way, we are entering into a conflict with a neighbor that has helped BiH many times, from putting out fires to providing financial assistance to municipalities, not only in Republika Srpska but also in municipalities in the FBiH," Petković added.
He stressed that Konaković did not deserve to hold such an important position as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers and that his latest action would have long-term consequences, Petković said.
Konaković announced today that he had decided to declare Serbian Embassy military attaché Milan Dulanović and adviser to a representative of the Security-Information Agency /BIA/ Danko Maksimović persona non grata, giving them 48 hours to leave BiH.
