BANJA LUKA, JUNE 2 /SRNA/ - Serb delegate in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Radovan Kovačević said that the institution of the high representative should have been abolished a long time ago, and that it did not bring anything good.

"The only thing it has brought is destabilization, unrest and bad conditions in BiH and the impossibility of the constitutive peoples of equal entities in BiH to come to an agreement. Those who benefited from it are now fighting to keep it," emphasized Kovačević.

According to him, unfortunately, those are, first and foremost, the representatives of the Bosniak people who are now talking about Schmidt's departure as their greatest.

"In that sense, we are happy that we contributed to that kind of defeat, but only because we believe that it can be an opportunity for everyone," Kovačević pointed out for RTRS.

Kovačević emphasized that Christian Schmidt was the butcher of Republika Srpska and the Serb people.

"We are very glad that such a villain is leaving BiH," Kovačević said.

He stated that the representatives of the Bosniak people are now behaving as if the people are minors and still need guardians.

"There is not a single free, grown-up and mature person who is looking for a guardian. Everyone wants to make decisions independently. Similarly, representatives of the peoples and entities should demand that we finally make decisions independently," said Kovačević.

According to him, Srpska is asking to make decisions independently and that those authorized by the Constitution in BiH are the ones who will make decisions, but also that the peoples and citizens of BiH have the opportunity to choose those who will be able to make decisions.

Kovačević pointed out that it is shocking, to say the least, to hear the Islamic community in BiH commenting on how a high representative should be elected.

"And they also say that `it is unacceptable that domestic actors are not involved in that process`. And when were we as domestic actors involved in the process? That can only be an acknowledgment that until now they were involved in who will be the high representative and in what way he will work against Republika Srpska and the Serb people. In essence, when the balance is drawn, they worked mostly against BiH," Kovačević added.

Kovačević emphasized that by their impositions, the high representatives made BiH exist less, that it is less sovereign and that it exists less as a community and that those who live in it want it to exist less.

"That is the unique attitude of the people in Republika Srpska. It is finally time for the high representative to leave, and if someone has to come, let him come with the clear goal of not interfering in internal relations, but to finally close that process, that is, that institution and finally go into the inglorious past," concluded Kovačević.
