SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 28 /SRNA/ - Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers Staša Košarac told SRNA that he expected the UN Security Council to finally review the role of the OHR and the consequences of imposed decisions, adding that the office's report is based on inaccurate, manipulative and obscure information from Sarajevo's Carshia.
Košarac said the essence of the disputed report to the UN Security Council is not concern for the situation in BiH, but money and an attempt to preserve the financial privileges of a long outdated and unnecessary institution.
He said that, just ahead of the UN Security Council session, political tension is being deliberately raised in Sarajevo and an image of crisis created, in order to justify continued funding and the survival of the OHR, along with its enormously high salaries and privileges.
"Typical Sarajevo lies," Košarac said.
Košarac said it is particularly telling that this atmosphere is being created at a time when a potential review of the OHR's decisions and its financial operations has been announced.
"Money is running short, and that is why Sarajevo, looking out solely for its own petty profiteering interests, is creating a crisis, tendentious interpretations and political constructs meant to justify the continued existence of the OHR, and with it high salaries and privileges," Košarac said.
He said the UN Security Council is expected to finally review the role of the OHR and the consequences of the High Representatives' imposed decisions, instead of accepting one-sided reports as a measure of the situation in BiH.
"Republika Srpska is not asking for privileges, but for respect for the Dayton Agreement, constitutional competences and the right of democratically elected representatives to make decisions on behalf of the citizens who placed their trust in them," Košarac said.
The UN Security Council will hold its semi-annual debate on BiH on Friday, October 30.
