SARAJEVO, May 10 /SRNA/ – Staša Košarac, Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers of BiH, told SRNA today that Christian Schmidt’s platformists have introduced a new concept into the country’s political life: a parliamentary minority made up of some ruling parties at the BiH level and the opposition in Republika Srpska.

Košarac emphasized that these two “threes” ignore the numerical reality—that this parliamentary minority lacks the necessary majorities in both houses of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly—and that they have neither the democratic nor the political capacity to embark on adventures with unforeseeable consequences.

He added that the two “threes” are well aware that SNSD and HDZ represent the will of the Serbian and Croatian peoples, respectively, and that no one else but their own democratic legitimacy and the people’s will sustain them in government at the BiH level.

“It is precisely this popular mandate that creates an insurmountable difference compared to the two ‘threes,’ who persistently call in foreigners for help, hoping that the intervention of the illegitimate Christian Schmidt and Western embassies will yield some result,” Košarac said.

Noting that the two “threes” cannot count on their own electorate’s support—and thus lack any real democratic or political weight—Košarac accused them of humbly begging Schmidt to secure them a place in government.

He stressed that the price of such unconstitutional, anti-Dayton, and anti-democratic activity would be incalculable and irreparable, both for Republika Srpska and for overall relations in BiH.
