KOŠARAC: MURPHY SIMPLY CANNOT UNDERSTAND THAT HIS OFFICE IN BiH HAS EXPIRED

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, AUGUST 24 /SRNA/ - Michael Murphy simply cannot understand that his office in BiH has expired, thus every statement he makes confirms what we in Republika Srpska have known for a long time - that being an ambassador was not enough for him, but that he saw himself as the political governor of BiH, stressed Staša Košarac, Council of Ministers Deputy Chair.

Košarac told SRNA that a man who for years tried to act as a political tutor in BiH now insults anyone who dares to say something in the United States that does not suit political circles in Sarajevo.

"Who is he to decide what is acceptable, what is a myth, and what is a legal fantasy?" Košarac asked, reacting to Murphy's position that an article titled "Let Bosnia Collapse: Why Trump Must Recognise Republika Srpska," published in the American weekly Washington Examiner, is part of what he described as comprehensive lobbying efforts to change the narrative about BiH in Washington.

Košarac stressed that, to Murphy, anything that challenges his version of BiH is disinformation, while anything that does not fit his political agenda is a legal fantasy.

Murphy himself talking about lobbyists and foreign influence is particularly hypocritical, Košarac says.

"If anyone spent years trying to shape political relations in BiH according to the interests of the Biden administration, it was Murphy. Together with occupier Schmidt, Murphy orchestrated the political persecution of the legitimately elected President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, while favouring the opposition in Srpska, which was his choice and which obeyed him unquestioningly," Košarac recalled.

He assessed that Murphy’s nervous reaction merely shows how Washington starting speaking openly about the reality of BiH and Republika Srpska's rights bothers him.

"Republika Srpska will not disappear just because Murphy does not like it. As far as Republika Srpska is concerned, he can write as much as he wants. Srpska will exist without his approval," Košarac said.
